On the Development of the NIH Complementary and Alternative Medicine Digital Library

A Complementary and Alternative Medicine digital library, called SIRE-MED, is now available at the NIH Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. This effort supports both novice and advanced users. Queries are issued using either Boolean expressions of Mesh terms or using natural language. Canned queries are also available. We describe the underlying architecture and implementation of SIRE-MED and highlight its user interface.
